As an Account Director, you will be the strategic and operational lead on client relationships, orchestrating delivery across our full spectrum of capabilities: from strategic brand and business transformation work, through digital experience design and delivery, to integrated campaign execution and production management. More than just a manager or consultant, you will foster deep partnerships to drive measurable impact across multiple workstreams and disciplines. Your understanding of client challenges combined with your ability to synthesise diverse expertise will enable you to unlock growth and deliver transformational business results.
Located at Nieuwe Herengracht right in front of the Hortus Botanicus, you will have access to our diverse network of specialists by collaborating across our twelve European studios. Strategic Partnership & Account Leadership
- Establish collaborative partnerships with key clients to deliver against business objectives across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Own project level client satisfaction and health with project management and operations partners, balancing short-term delivery with long-term relationship growth
- Identify and nurture organic growth opportunities through deep understanding of client business and proactive capability positioning
Strategic Project Delivery
- Supporting strategic brand, business, and experience transformation projects from discovery through execution and value realisation
- Demonstrate strategic capability when framing client challenges, defining project approaches, and translating business objectives into actionable briefs
- Ensure strategic initiatives focus on delivering tangible, measurable value to the client business
Campaign and Digital Experience Leadership
- Orchestrate integrated campaign delivery across digital channels, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business outcomes
- Partner with production and execution teams to manage timelines, quality, and resource allocation
- Oversee digital experience initiatives and ensure optimal user-centric delivery
Briefing & Synthesis Excellence
- Effectively empathise with, synthesise, and communicate client requirements in clear, strategic briefs
- Communicate complex strategic recommendations and digital approaches to senior stakeholders with confidence and clarity
- Create comprehensive briefs that set up cross-discipline delivery teams for success
Cross-Discipline Coordination
- Motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across studios, disciplines, and partners
- Partner with specialists in brand strategy, digital product, experience design, campaign planning, and production
- Facilitate collaboration between AKQA practices to deliver holistic solutions
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Experience: 3+ years in digital, strategy, or business consulting.
- Digital Expertise: Thorough knowledge of digital and online marketing communications, with technical experience viewed as a plus.
- Autonomy: Ability to identify opportunities to enhance a client's business and grow relationships independently.
- Digital Landscape: A strong understanding of customer experience and digital transformation.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to make a measurable difference to an organisation, project, or team.
- Global Delivery: Experience managing integrated global or regional campaigns involving multiple stakeholders.
- Business Development: Ability to drive new business opportunities from identification through to conversion.
- Senior Presentation: Experience presenting autonomously at senior levels.
- Cultural Fit: A positive and collaborative attitude with a passion for ground-breaking work.
