Occupational Therapist | K-6

About the Role:

AnthroMed Education is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a school-based setting in Lafayette, Indiana for the 2026–2027 school year.

This full-time opportunity will support students across elementary and intermediate grade levels (K–6th), with services provided in a variety of educational environments. The OT will collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers to help students develop the functional skills they need to participate successfully in their educational programs.

Caseload Details:

  • Serve students across K–6th grade in elementary and intermediate school settings.

  • Full-time position with an 8-hour work day.

  • School-based services may include:

    • Consultation

    • Inclusion

    • Resource settings

    • Functional Skills classrooms

  • Support students with a variety of developmental, physical, sensory, fine motor, visual-motor, and functional needs.

  • Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to identify strategies that improve students' access to the educational environment.

  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to support student independence and participation.

  • Opportunity to provide both direct and consultative occupational therapy services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to identify students' strengths, needs, and barriers to educational participation.

  • Develop measurable OT goals and recommendations aligned with students' IEPs.

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services based on students' individual needs and educational goals.

  • Provide consultation to teachers, staff, and families regarding strategies to support student participation and independence.

  • Address functional skills such as:

    • Fine motor development

    • Visual-motor integration

    • Handwriting and written work

    • Sensory regulation

    • Self-care and daily living skills

    • Classroom participation

    • Motor planning and coordination

  • Adapt instructional materials, equipment, and classroom environments to improve accessibility.

  • Recommend and support the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment when appropriate.

  • Monitor student progress and provide required progress reports and documentation.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Maintain accurate treatment notes and documentation in accordance with state and district requirements.

  • Collaborate with educators and related service providers to promote student independence and success.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

  • Valid Indiana Occupational Therapy License or eligibility to obtain.

  • Eligible to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Indiana.

  • Knowledge of school-based occupational therapy and special education practices preferred.

  • Experience working with children in educational settings is preferred but not required.

  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Passion for helping students build functional skills and participate successfully in school.
