Our Risk and Compliance practice are looking for an experienced consultant to join our Financial Crime team.

Baringa is committed to reducing financial crime and the negative consequences it has on society. We help our clients to better understand how Financial Crime can be carried out through their organisations and to put in place targeted controls, enabling them to manage this risk efficiently.

What you will be doing

We work across the entire Financial Services industry helping our clients to shape and deliver their strategic anti-financial crime agenda, with a specific focus on AML and Sanctions.

You will be working as part of a team to play a lead role in the following types of client engagements:

Designing and supporting the implementation of FC target operating models
Assessing and benchmarking the effectiveness of firms’ FC systems and controls against regulation and legislation
Designing and implementing a range of key FC controls, translating regulatory requirements into business and functional requirements that describe the system, data, process and control changes required to achieve compliance
Leading the planning and delivery of FC change programmes and projects
Designing and leading the implementation of FC technology solutions such as transaction monitoring, client screening.

Your skills and experience

Experience other than pure operational FinCrime work - e.g. prior consulting experience, work experience in the UK/US
Technical skills and practical experience with data analytics
Knowledge and understanding of the current FC legal and regulatory landscape and key regulatory initiatives
Experience of the design and implementation of FC systems – such as transaction monitoring, client or payment screening
Experience of designing, implementing and testing a broad range of FC controls would be considered an advantage
Relevant certifications (e.g. CAMS) would be considered an advantage
Аbility to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong academic performance with at least a Bachelor’s Degree
Candidates should be comfortable with international travel, which may be required for up to 30% of the time. Candidates must be able to travel and work within the EU/UK.
