As we continue to scale our global platform, the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring associate safety, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture across Fanatics fulfillment operations. ROLE OVERVIEW The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is critical to the safety and wellbeing of Fanatics Associates, serving as a strategic partner across all departments to ensure environmental health and safety standards meet the requirements of Fanatics and all governing bodies. Based in a Fanatics Fulfillment Center, this role leads compliance efforts, safety training, incident investigations, and hazard mitigation to create and sustain a safe working environment for every associate. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights. HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes. Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams) • Lead the Safety Committee and serve as associate support, fostering shared ownership of safety outcomes across all departments and levels of the organization. • Lead the site's First Responder team, ensuring compliance with all required certifications and maintaining readiness to respond to facility emergencies. • Partner with Human Resources to manage workers' compensation claims and collaborate cross-functionally to implement corrective actions resulting from incident investigations and hazard analyses. Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans) • Serve as the on-site contact for all governmental or outside safety inspections, and act as representative of the Fulfillment Center for local community safety councils or committees. • Provide or facilitate immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests requiring assistance or medical attention, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone in the facility. • Conduct training and coach associates on work habits that comply with governing body regulations and Fanatics policies, including all OSHA-required topics, reflecting Fanatics SOPs. • Maintain 5S database and perform weekly 5S audits for all areas, reinforcing standards that directly support associate wellbeing and operational excellence. Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit) • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the facility; conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, then develop and implement controls for identified hazards. • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions, recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomic considerations. • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control systems, policies, and procedures, recommending changes that reduce associate exposure to unsafe conditions. • Lead accident and incident investigations utilizing the 5 Why system; compile, analyze, interpret, and report all findings to drive meaningful and lasting corrective action. Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset) • Ensure that all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, and codes are observed, and support management's efforts to achieve and sustain full compliance. • Maintain and report daily, weekly, and monthly safety metrics for presentation within the facility and across the network, identifying trends and improvement opportunities. • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits. • Drive the safety mindset within Fanatics by inspiring a culture and commitment to creating a safe work environment for all associates, including willingness to comply with all Fanatics safety policies and procedures. This role is expected to: • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING Required Qualifications: • Minimum 1 year of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety position, preferably in a fulfillment center, distribution, or manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA standards and the ability to apply technical expertise in implementing safety controls and continuously improving safety processes. • Experience leading safety investigations using structured methodologies such as 5 Why, with the ability to compile, analyze, and report findings and corrective actions. • Proficiency in MS Office with strong written and verbal communication skills to present safety data, training, and reports to associates and leadership. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle facility-related emergencies with availability outside of regular business hours as needed. • Physical capability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, work on feet for 8–10 hours, and operate safely on ladders and scissor lift platforms. • Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of compliance, documentation, and follow-through.
