About the opportunity
N26 sucht einen Senior Legal Counsel Banking Law, um unsere rechtliche Expertise weiter auszubauen. In dieser Schlüsselrolle bist du Teil unseres Banking Law & Litigation Teams und fungierst als strategischer Partner für das Management sowie den Vorstand.
Dein Fokus liegt auf der rechtlichen Architektur und Absicherung wegweisender Finanzprodukte. Du gestaltest die Zukunft des digitalen Banking, indem du komplexe regulatorische Anforderungen in rechtssichere Konzepte übersetzt – von der Skalierung unserer Bank-, Trading- und Krypto-Angebote bis hin zur Erschließung neuer europäischer Märkte. Dabei balancierst du Agilität mit höchster Compliance und stellst sicher, dass unsere Produktvisionen stets im Einklang mit dem Aufsichtsrecht stehen.
Deine Aufgaben:
- Du wirst innerhalb des N26 Legal Departments in unserem Banking Law & Litigation Team arbeiten und bei der Einführung sowie Skalierung von zukunftsweisenden Bank- und Finanzprodukten mitwirken (z. B. Trading & Crypto).
- Du berätst das Management und den Vorstand ganzheitlich in allen rechtlichen Fragen im Zusammenhang mit bestehenden und neuen Banking, Trading und Finanzprodukten.
- Du bewertest komplexe regulatorische Anforderungen und entwickelst rechtssichere Konzepte für neue Produkte in einem dynamischen Umfeld.
- Du arbeitest eng mit dem Product und dem Compliance Team zusammen und stellst sicher, dass Innovation und regulatorische Compliance Hand in Hand gehen.
- Du fungierst als Ansprechpartner bei regulatorischen Prüfungen und steuerst souverän die Kommunikation mit Aufsichtsbehörden.
- Du koordinierst eigenverantwortlich die Zusammenarbeit mit externen Rechtsberatern und stellst eine erstklassige Beratungsqualität sicher.
- Du führst eigenständig Gerichts- sowie Streitbeilegungsverfahren und verantwortest das Management bedeutender Verfahren über alle Instanzen hinweg.
What you need to be successful
Hintergrund:
- Du bist deutscher Volljurist und hast das erste und zweite juristische Staatsexamen mit überdurchschnittlichen Ergebnissen abgeschlossen.
- Du kannst mindestens 4 Jahre Berufserfahrung und einen wesentlichen Teil davon im Bank- und Finanzrecht in einer renommierten Kanzlei oder/und in einem internationalen Unternehmen (gerne auch Fintech) vorweisen.
- Umfassende Kenntnisse im Bank- und Finanzrecht und in angrenzenden Rechtsgebieten sind erforderlich. Erfahrungen in anderen Rechtsgebieten sind willkommen.
- Idealerweise hast du bereits einen Fachanwaltslehrgang im Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht erfolgreich abgeschlossen oder führst bereits den entsprechenden Fachanwaltstitel.
- Deutsch und Englisch fließend in Wort und Schrift, jede weitere Sprache (insbesondere Französisch, Spanisch oder Italienisch) ist ein Plus.

- Du hast ein ausgeprägtes Interesse an technischen und betriebswirtschaftlichen Zusammenhängen sowie digitalen Geschäftsmodellen.
- Du arbeitest eigenständig, triffst Entscheidungen und bist bereit diese auch intern und extern zu vertreten.
- Du bist bereit, dir pragmatisch auch neue Themen und Rechtsgebiete zu erschließen und dynamische regulatorische Entwicklungen eng zu begleiten.
- Du besitzt ein hohes Level an Integrität, Einsatzbereitschaft und Eigeninitiative und scheust dich nicht vor Personalverantwortung.
