Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is growing and seeking Master Digital Tooling Engineers where you will designing and supporting production tooling for advanced aerospace manufacturing. We're looking for a Master Digital Tooling Engineer to develop tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and assembly aids that support aircraft assembly, production, and final integration.
In this role, you'll work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to improve tooling, solve manufacturing challenges, and support digital transformation through 3D scanning and digital model validation.
Location: 100% onsite in Marietta, GA
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of our work.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and improve production tooling, assembly jigs, fixtures, gauges, and installation aids.
- Support aircraft assembly, structural installation, systems installation, and final assembly operations.
- Create and validate tooling designs using CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Siemens NX.
- Review and validate 3D models, digital scan data, and point cloud data to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with third-party suppliers performing 3D scanning of tooling and production assemblies.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement tooling improvements that increase quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support engineering changes, manufacturing planning, and production rate increases.
- Lead or support First Article Inspections (FAI), Material Review Board (MRB) activities, Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, and liaison teams to resolve technical issues.
- Train production teams on tooling best practices and support ongoing process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing engineering, or production tooling.
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, or assembly aids for aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Siemens NX.
- Experience creating and reviewing 3D CAD models and assemblies.
- Knowledge of aircraft assembly, structural installation, manufacturing processes, and production tooling.
- Experience validating digital models, scan data, or point cloud data.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting military aircraft programs such as F-16, F/A-18, F-22, F-35, or C-130.
- Experience with aircraft production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting FAI, MRB, RCCA, and engineering change activities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing planning, work instructions, and production process improvements.
- Experience using 3D scanning technologies and digital inspection methods.
- Experience implementing automation, digital engineering tools, or AI-enabled engineering solutions.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone, video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations
