The Project Manager is accountable for completing projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with requirements and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Review project scope, contracts, proposals, drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation before mobilization.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, manpower requirements, material requirements, and completion forecasts.
  • Coordinate multiple active projects and field teams simultaneously.
  • Ensure project requirements are clearly communicated to Site Supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and supporting departments.
  • Identify project risks, schedule conflicts, scope issues, and resource constraints before they negatively affect project performance.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the life of the project.

Financial Management

  • Manage assigned projects against approved labor, material, subcontractor, travel, and overall project budgets.
  • Monitor project costs, labor utilization, committed costs, purchasing, and projected cost-to-complete.
  • Identify potential budget overruns early and develop corrective action plans.
  • Review project performance against estimated labor and material requirements.
  • Assist management with project forecasting, revenue projections, and financial reporting.
  • Identify out-of-scope work and ensure potential change orders are documented and communicated before additional work is performed.
  • Protect project margin while maintaining contractual and customer requirements.

Field Operations & Resource Coordination

  • Coordinate with Site Supervisors and field personnel regarding manpower, scheduling, materials, equipment, site access, and project requirements.
  • Provide clear direction and expectations to field teams regarding project scope and priorities.
  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of field resources.
  • Monitor field productivity and project progress against established schedules and budgets.
  • Work with Operations Management to identify manpower requirements and resolve resource conflicts.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and verify their performance against standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to verify progress, quality, safety, and project conditions.

Customer & Contractor Communication

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for customers, General Contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, construction meetings, progress meetings, and customer coordination calls.
  • Maintain professional and proactive communication regarding project status, scheduling, issues, and required decisions.
  • Manage customer concerns and project-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with Account Managers regarding customer expectations, scope changes, and commercial issues.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships throughout project execution.

Engineering, Procurement & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure drawings, submittals, system designs, and technical documentation are available when required.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Coordinate material requirements with Procurement and verify materials are ordered in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Monitor long-lead equipment and material deliveries that could affect project execution.
  • Identify material shortages or incorrect equipment before they create field delays.
  • Coordinate equipment startup, programming, testing, commissioning, and system acceptance as required.

Change Management

  • Identify changes in scope, unforeseen conditions, customer requests, and other events that may create additional cost or schedule impacts.
  • Document potential change-order work and communicate it through the appropriate internal process.
  • Ensure field personnel understand that work outside the authorized project scope must be properly documented and approved.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and schedule impacts associated with changes.

Quality, Safety & Closeout

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with standards, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, approved drawings, and project specifications.
  • Work with field leadership to resolve quality deficiencies and punch-list items.
  • Promote compliance with company safety policies and customer/site-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, training, and customer acceptance.
  • Ensure required project closeout documentation is completed and submitted.
  • Coordinate as-built documentation, O&M manuals, test reports, training documentation, warranties, and other required deliverables.
  • Drive assigned projects to complete financial and administrative closeout.
