Associate Veterinarian Opportunity in Slidell, Louisiana

Pontchartrain Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and motivated Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join our established small animal veterinary practice in Slidell, Louisiana, just minutes from the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain and a short drive from New Orleans and Mississippi's Gulf Coast.

  • Up to $140,000 Base Salary (varies based on qualifications/experience)
  • Quarterly production bonus with no negative accrual.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Veterinarian, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and wellness visits
  • Diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions in dogs and cats
  • Develop preventive healthcare and vaccination protocols
  • Perform routine soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
  • Utilize laboratory diagnostics and diagnostic imaging to support clinical decision-making
  • Create individualized treatment plans for patients
  • Educate pet owners regarding preventive medicine, nutrition, and treatment recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and fellow veterinarians
  • Build trusting, long-term relationships with clients and their pets
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality veterinary care every day

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, experience, and geographic location. Individual compensation within the stated range will depend on factors including experience, education, licensure, certifications, and demonstrated clinical skills.

Pontchartrain Animal Hospital offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, continuing education, professional dues, 401(k), employee pet care discounts, and other benefits depending on eligibility and location.
