Description
PointCentral is the leading smart property technology platform for residential rental communities — powering access, security, and automation across multifamily, single-family, build-to-rent, and short-term rental properties nationwide. We're a subsidiary of Alarm.com, which gives us the stability and infrastructure of a public company with the speed and ambition of a product-led startup.
We are seeking a Product Manager to join our Enabling Technologies team where you will focus on the physical access systems that are essential for safe and efficient property operations. Vehicle gates, amenity spaces, unit doors — anywhere people move within a community — access control is what ensures the right people can get to the right places at the right times.
Most people have rented an apartment and noticed the technology — or lack thereof — keeping the building running. Not many have thought about how to make it smarter. If you have, we'd like to meet you.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product development lifecycle of our unified community access platform managing resident, staff, and visitor access across the property.
- Build expertise in access control hardware, protocols, and emerging standards (such as Aliro), and keep an eye on new technologies shaping the future.
- Perform continuous discovery through customer interviews, researching the competitive landscape, and analyzing feedback from sales and support.
- Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging AI tools to achieve product objectives and work collaboratively with engineering.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of technology partners, yielding mutually beneficial product updates and resolving unexpected issues quickly.
- Support PointCentral leadership in strategic customer engagements and meetings with executives from Alarm.com.
- Support beta testing and contribute to technical documentation, training resources, and internal enablement materials.
- Support all revenue teams in qualifying prospects, closing sales, onboarding new customers, and troubleshooting support issues, with a strong willingness to travel onsite to maximize probability of positive outcomes.
- Develop a deep understanding of the rental real estate market, paying close attention to emerging business trends.
Job Requirements:
- Successful candidates will demonstrate strong natural leadership, critical thinking, self-motivation, excellent communication skills, curiosity, creativity, and tenacity.
- 2-3 years in a technology role with at least 1 year as a product manager.
- Background or experience as a software engineer is desirable.
- Real estate or PropTech experience is highly valued.
- Genuine comfort working with hardware, devices, and physical appliances. You enjoy getting hands-on with products, understanding how they work, and can quickly develop a thorough understanding of technology.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to spend time with customers, partners, and products in the field.
- Humble and willing to assist with miscellaneous product tasks as needs arise with the business, customers, and colleagues.
- Able to focus on delivery of the most important product investments, despite an abundance of business opportunities and urgent product requests.
- No specific degree required. B.S., B.A., or relevant trade experience valued equally. We understand great product managers come from many diverse life experiences.
Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.
