About Rocket Now
Rocket Now is a food delivery service with no delivery or service fees. Consumers can enjoy a wide variety of cuisines, from Japanese and Western food to healthy options, as well as desserts and drinks, quickly and affordably. The service is currently available mainly in Hokkaido, Tohoku (Sendai), Kanto (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba), Chubu (Aichi,Shizuoka), Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo), Hiroshima, and Kyushu (Fukuoka). Rocket Now won the Excellence Award in the Shopping Category at the Best App Awards 2025. The Accounting team in Japan ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with Japanese statutory and tax requirements, and alignment with Coupang headquarters’ global accounting policies. The team collaborates closely with both local operations and global finance functions to maintain high standards of compliance, efficiency, and accuracy. This position is to take on broader responsibilities in financial operations, including payments processing, general ledger management, tax compliance, and financial analysis to support business needs. This role requires strong accounting expertise and the ability to collaborate across functions to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
主な業務内容

Manage payment processing for Rocket Now operations, including vendor invoices and business expenses

Prepare, review, and post journal entries while supporting the maintenance of the general ledger

Support tax-related activities, including documentation, filings, and coordination with external tax advisors

Monitor accounts payable processes and ensure compliance with internal controls

Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions and ad hoc requests

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
-
Support internal and external audit requirements
-
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting operations and efficiency

Collaborate with local and global stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues
基本資格
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
-
5+ years of accounting experience
-
Experience in Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and financial closing activities
-
Solid understanding of Japanese GAAP (J-GAAP)
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
-
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

CPA, USCPA, or equivalent accounting qualification

Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems
