Role Overview
Positions available in multiple locations across the US beginning Fall Semester 2026. This posting is for anticipated openings. While we will conduct preliminary interviews based on applications submitted through this posting, we will also reach out to qualified candidates to engage in a campus-specific review process once individual roles are posted. Note that positions are anticipated to open on a rolling basis through summer 2026. Specific titles, compensation, and experience required/preferred vary by campus Hillel.
Do you love meeting new people? Are you always inviting friends to things you care about, and making sure they actually show up? Do you believe the best experiences are better when shared? As an IACT professional, you’ll do exactly that. You’ll build meaningful relationships and connect students to Birthright Israel and each other.
Make a lasting impact on Jewish life as an IACT professional (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed), Hillel's innovative strategy that harnesses the power of Birthright. In addition to guiding students on impactful Birthright experiences, IACTs build campus communities prior to their departure and upon their return. IACTs are excited to engage students in Israel and in Jewish conversations and have a deep understanding of Jewish identity as a framework for shaping meaning, value, and purpose in the lives of emerging adults. They wake up each day (or at least most!) excited to help students explore and create vibrant connections to Israel and Jewish Life.
This is an in-person and on-campus role available at a variety of locations.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to Israel with college students while leading immersive experiences
- Build meaningful connections with students and seek out students who are not yet involved in Jewish life
- Serve as a thought partner and entrepreneurial leader for the campus Hillel’s student life staff and engagement strategy
- Recruit, coordinate, and curate a meaningful Birthright Israel experience for students
- Staff Shabbat dinners and help celebrate holidays with the campus community
- Manage campus Hillel’s Birthright Israel program, including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and creating the most impactful trip experience
- Create ways to elevate student passions and craft experiences that reflect the interests of the student body
- Manage post-trip engagement and develop Jewish experiences and opportunities for Birthright Israel alumni
- Support recruitment for other immersive experiences in Israel including Onward Israel, Masa Israel, and Maccabee Task Force
- Develop and nurture relationships with University personnel and partners throughout campus
- Attend staff meetings and participate in regular supervision with supervisor
- Collaborate with other Hillel staff to help shape and develop the mission of the campus Hillel
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 0-5 years of experience, dependent on local Hillel needs and position specifics
- Entrepreneurial energy and a passion for Judaism, Israel, and the Jewish People
- Creativity, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to take initiative, interest in professional growth, excellent interpersonal communication, and leadership development skills
- Prior travel experience in Israel, preferably on a Birthright Israel trip
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Things may not always go according to plan, but you are willing to take risks and learn from your wins as well as your losses
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is commensurate based on experience, with the average salary being $48,000, depending on experience, location, title, and job description at the individual locations. Please note that this scale is based on several different openings and might be higher or lower in some specific locations’ job postings.
- Title varies depending on job description and location.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and generous vacation/sick time
- Great professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities
- 100% paid travel to US-based conferences and professional development gatherings
- 100% paid travel regionally and abroad, particularly to Israel, multiple times per year
- A cohort of like-minded colleagues to collaborate and grow with

About IACT
IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) is Hillel’s comprehensive strategy that leverages Birthright Israel to transform Jewish life on campus. Currently active on 32 campuses across the United States, IACT seeks to engage a critical mass of less affiliated first and second year students in Jewish life on campus by inspiring, activating and propelling these young adults on a Jewish journey. By ensuring that every Jewish student has the opportunity to participate in a meaningful immersive Israel experience and be supported on a journey of Jewish discovery before, during, and after that experience, IACT builds a connected and committed campus community. This is a unique position for a candidate who has a passion for recruiting and is skilled in organizing, marketing, event planning, and program development.
About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
