Description

Senior Director Campus Support (Multi-Campus)

Hillel Ontario | Regional Team | Hybrid (Campus visits required)

Reports to: Senior Vice President

Hillel Ontario (Toronto, ON) is a recognized leader in the international Hillel movement, serving over 14,000 Jewish students across nine universities and amplifying vibrant Jewish campus life. We centralize organizational expertise so our campus professionals can focus on student engagement, leadership development, learning, and building meaningful community connections. Hillel embraces religious and political diversity, supporting a broad spectrum of identities through innovative programming, immersive experiences, and student leadership development. We empower the next generation of Jewish leaders to make an enduring impact on Jewish life, Israel, and the world.

About the Role

As Hillel Ontario continues to expand its impact across campuses, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Director Campus Support (DCS) to empower our campus teams in achieving success & engagement goals. This role serves as a critical bridge between senior leadership and campus teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and strong execution across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular in-person presence across multiple campuses to coach, support, and elevate team performance and overall impact. These campus visits will augment remote support and contact with students and campus staff alike.

This Sr. DCS will strengthen campus performance by establishing clear accountability, building team capacity, and providing the training, tools, and resources campus teams need to effectively advance organizational priorities—including scaling student engagement, leadership development, and advocacy initiatives toward our goal of reaching 10,000 students.

This opportunity is designed for a seasoned, high-energy leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about supporting frontline professionals and student leaders. You will play a key role in translating organizational vision into meaningful, on-the-ground impact, ensuring campus teams are empowered, aligned, and equipped to meet the evolving needs of Jewish students and the broader campus community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Partner with Senior Leadership to operationalize organizational priorities across campuses, ensuring alignment with the unique context of each campus.
  • Translate high-level strategy into clear frameworks, goals, and plans that enable campus teams to execute effectively with clear success metrics.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and strategic support to campus professionals, helping them navigate challenges, prioritize effectively, and continuously improve their work.
  • Ensure effective implementation of central frameworks across campus engagement areas, including education, wellness, and leadership development at the campus level.
  • Monitor, track, and report on implementation progress across campuses to drive consistency and accountability.
  • Surface barriers to execution and work cross-functionally to resolve them.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide hands-on, in-the-field coaching during regular campus visits.
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear, actionable expectations and success metrics for campus teams.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor campus leads/directors across multiple campuses, providing onboarding, ongoing cohort support, and the training, resources, and guidance needed
  • Support campus staff in goal-setting, performance management, and professional growth, fostering leadership development and strengthening team capacity.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.

Campus Impact & Student Engagement

  • Guide campus teams in designing and executing impactful, student-led programming in areas of advocacy, wellness, education, and leadership development.
  • Encourage creativity, ownership, and diverse expressions of Jewish identity and community.
  • Ensure alignment between organizational goals and campus-level engagement strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key student leaders to incorporate and amplify their perspective

Operations & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Ensure strong operational discipline across campuses (planning, budgeting, reporting, CRM usage) to enable effective program delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee campus-level data tracking and reporting.
  • Coach campuses in building sustainable systems and workflows.
  • Identify gaps and implement solutions that improve efficiency and impact.
  • Standardize best practices across campuses while allowing for appropriate local nuance.

Crisis Leadership & Student Support

  • Ensure staff feel supported and equipped to navigate complex situations
  • Provide calm, steady leadership during moments of campus tension or crisis
  • Coordinate with internal teams and campus partners to support student wellbeing and safety

Cross-Organizational Alignment

  • Act as a key bridge between campus teams and central functional leaders to ensure alignment between campus execution and organizational strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engagement & Innovation Officer and central team to support successful rollout of initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in community engagement, campus work, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of Jewish campus life, Israel engagement, and current campus dynamics
  • Demonstrated experience working with and developing emerging professionals, with the ability to coach, mentor, and support their growth
  • Proven experience managing and developing remote high-performing teams
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute and drive results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Highly organized with strong project and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable, functional vehicle are required, because the role involves regular travel between campuses and partner sites.

Who You Are

  • A relationship-builder who thrives on connecting with people
  • A thoughtful leader who builds trust while maintaining accountability
  • Comfortable holding high standards and addressing underperformance directly
  • Skilled at developing emerging leaders
  • Able to build and reinforce scalable structures and processes
  • Able to navigate and reinforce cross-functional priorities
  • A positive, motivating presence with “roll-up-your-sleeves” energy, who brings strong “good vibes” to teams
