Description

Partner with leaders navigating complexity and change, helping them build the capability, culture and leadership needed to thrive. This role is for people who want to shape how organisations lead their people and improve performance.

Nous Group is an international management consultancy. We work with leaders across Australia, the United Kingdom and North America to solve their most complex challenges and navigate transformational change.
We bring together multidisciplinary teams to partner with clients and develop practical solutions that deliver lasting impact for businesses, governments and communities.
Our purpose is positive influence. We are driven to improve people's lives by working with our clients to deliver outcomes that matter, strengthening organisations, supporting communities and realising a bigger idea of success.

About the role

This is a client-facing role with responsibility for leading complex engagements and shaping client thinking on leadership, capability and organisational performance.

As a Director in our Organisational Performance and Leadership practice, you will help organisations perform better by shaping the connection between leadership, workforce strategy, operating model and culture. You will diagnose where performance is constrained, design practical solutions and embed change that shifts how organisations operate day to day.

You will work across sectors, partnering with senior stakeholders to address critical people and performance challenges, from workforce planning and organisation design through to leadership capability and culture change. You will lead multiple engagements, guide teams and ensure our work delivers measurable outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Lead complex engagements that improve organisational performance across workforce strategy, operating model, culture and leadership
  • Diagnose organisational challenges, linking structure, capability, behaviour and systems to identify what is driving performance
  • Design and implement integrated solutions, including workforce planning approaches, organisation design, culture and behaviour change, and leadership development
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape strategy, influence decisions and embed change in how organisations operate
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice through client development, thought leadership and collaboration across service lines

What will help you succeed

  • Deep experience in organisational development, people advisory, leadership development in consulting or applied settings
  • A strong track record delivering end-to-end workforce, organisation and leadership initiatives that lead to sustained performance improvement
  • Experience shaping workforce strategy, organisation design, culture or change in complex environments
  • Strong project leadership skills, with experience directing medium to large engagements
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in organisational psychology, human resources, learning and development or a related discipline
  • Curiosity and drive to stay current in emerging thinking and apply it to client work

If you don’t meet every requirement but are excited by the role, we would still love to hear from you.

Why join

At Nous, you will work at the intersection of workforce strategy, organisation design, culture and leadership, not as separate services but as connected levers of performance.

Our work is diagnostic, tailored and grounded in how organisations actually operate, not templated programs or system implementations. You will work directly with senior leaders, shape how they think about performance, and see your work translate into tangible change.

You will have real agency to shape outcomes, develop your expertise and contribute to the growth of the practice. We offer diverse experiences across sectors, opportunities to deepen your craft, and a culture that supports both high performance and a full life outside work.

If you are at your best solving complex problems that sit between strategy, people and performance, this is the work you have been building towards.

Finally, some important details...

Nous is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Nous is a flexible workplace that offers consulting opportunities on a full-time and part-time basis.

If you have experience working on complex problems, are high performing and productive working in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a dynamic team that puts people at the centre of everything, then we'd love to hear from you!

To apply for a role at Nous in Australia, you must have the right to work in Australia.

Please note if you are successful in the recruitment process, you will be required to undertake background screening prior to your commencement at Nous.
