Who We Are
What You Will Do
-
Oversee live systematic trading across assigned markets, sessions, strategies, and instruments, maintaining an accurate view of orders, positions, exposures, PnL, and market conditions.

Provide concise, structured handovers between regional sessions, including open orders, positions, risk issues, market events, system health, incidents, and required follow-up.

Act as a gatekeeper for production trading: verify trading readiness, monitor alerts and limits, and pause, modify, cancel, or escalate trading activity when systems, risk, liquidity, market conditions, or rules require intervention.

Execute orders and manage workflows that require human judgement, balancing urgency, liquidity, market impact, information leakage, and execution risk.

Enforce applicable pre-trade and post-trade controls, trading restrictions, strategy mandates, and escalation procedures in partnership with risk and compliance.

Investigate abnormal behaviour and trading incidents, including stale or incorrect market data, order and exchange rejects, routing issues, unexpected fills, position or PnL breaks, control breaches, and divergences between intended and actual strategy behaviour.

Coordinate incident response across quantitative research, engineering, risk, compliance, operations, brokers, and exchanges; maintain clear records and follow issues through resolution and post-incident review.

Analyse execution quality using fills, slippage, market impact, participation, rejects, and other relevant measures; identify changes in liquidity or market microstructure and recommend improvements.

Improve trading controls, alerts, dashboards, operating procedures, and runbooks by translating desk experience into clear requirements for engineering and research teams.

Monitor market-moving news, macroeconomic developments, policy decisions, geopolitical events, positioning, and cross-asset relationships; assess their relevance to current strategies and exposures.

Develop and communicate trade ideas and research hypotheses, including macro, commodities, relative-value, and cross-market observations, and collaborate with researchers to evaluate them systematically.
**This role can be based remotely for strong candidates, with business travel required to our Asia offices
Who You Are
-
Live trading or execution experience in traditional financial markets, with the judgement to make timely, risk-aware decisions under pressure.
-
A strong technical or quantitative foundation, developed through education or practical experience, and the ability to reason precisely about complex trading workflows and system behaviour.
-
Practical familiarity with automated trading systems and the components around them, such as market data, strategy engines, order and execution management systems, broker and exchange connectivity, position and PnL services, alerting, and risk controls.

Experience monitoring live order flow and responding to alerts, limit breaches, operational failures, or abnormal market conditions, including knowing when and how to intervene or escalate.

Deep practical knowledge of market structure, trading rules, restrictions, and regulatory requirements in at least one core traditional market. This may include areas such as US equities, global futures and options, or Asian equities and/or Asia F&O.

Strong understanding of execution mechanics, including order types, liquidity, spread, depth, volatility, market impact, exchange sessions, auctions, halts, rejects, and instrument-specific risks.

A disciplined control mindset: you treat limits, restrictions, reconciliations, escalation paths, and auditability as integral parts of trading rather than administrative tasks.

Genuine interest in markets beyond immediate execution, with the ability to analyse news, macroeconomic and geopolitical developments, and cross-asset price action critically rather than reactively.

Clear communication and collaborative working skills across traders, quantitative researchers, engineers, risk, compliance, operations, and external counterparties.

Practical working proficiency in Mandarin and English. You should be able to hold basic work conversations and coordinate trading or operational matters; a natural mix of Mandarin and English is acceptable.

Willingness and ability to cover the market hours agreed for the role and location.
Strong Plus
-
Experience in a quantitative macro desk and/or a systematic equities/CTA desk with in-depth analytical/trading experience and trading thesis formulated and executed live.
-
Exposure to macro and cross-asset markets, especially commodities, futures, options, rates, FX, or equity indices. This may come from execution, systematic research, or portfolio support and does not require prior discretionary PM responsibility.

Working knowledge of Python, Linux, and SQL for trade investigation, data analysis, workflow automation, or collaboration with engineering and research teams.
-
Experience designing, testing, or improving automated alerts, pre-trade controls, post-trade controls, kill switches, monitoring tools, or operational risk processes.

Experience with transaction cost analysis, execution research, broker or venue evaluation, and systematic improvement of execution logic.

Experience managing live trading incidents and contributing to root-cause analysis, control remediation, and procedural improvement.

Breadth across multiple market structures, jurisdictions, asset classes, time zones, or exchange and broker relationships.
