At The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A., a revered legal institution since 1992, we've dedicated ourselves to championing the rights of personal injury victims across Southwest Florida, with offices in Naples, Fort Myers, and Orlando. Our practice, under the distinguished leadership of the award-winning attorney Marc L. Shapiro, is a beacon of excellence in the legal community. With a team seasoned in handling complex personal injury cases including auto accidents and other traumatic events, our firm has recovered millions for our clients, embodying a steadfast commitment to justice and empathy.

As our firm continues to grow and expand our non-personal injury practice, we're seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Special Projects Paralegal to help support a diverse range of complex legal matters, primarily focused on real estate and civil litigation. Working directly with the Director of Litigation and the firm owner, you'll play an integral role in managing challenging cases while helping deliver exceptional service and results for our clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Document Drafting: Prepare, draft, and review a wide range of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other critical legal filings that support successful case outcomes.
  • Case Management: Oversee and maintain organized case files, evidence, and correspondence, ensuring attorneys have timely access to the information they need at every stage of litigation.
  • Real Estate & Special Matters: Assist with complex real estate disputes, foreclosures, title matters, probate-related matters, and other specialized legal issues, contributing to high-quality legal representation across diverse matters.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda that help attorneys develop effective legal strategies and well-supported arguments.
  • Client Interaction: Build strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication, providing a positive experience while keeping matters moving forward.
  • Calendar Coordination: Coordinate hearings, depositions, trial preparation, and key litigation deadlines, helping ensure matters progress efficiently and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Administrative Support: Provide executive administrative support to the firm owner as needed, including calendaring, meeting reminders, and related coordination to help keep priorities organized and on track.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience and Skills: Brings at least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (8+ years strongly preferred), with a strong background in civil litigation. Experience handling real estate matters is highly valued.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Filevine (or similar case management software) is preferred, along with the ability to leverage AI tools such as Spellbook and vLex’s Vincent AI to improve efficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear, concise, timely, and proactive communication with attorneys, staff, clients, courts, and opposing counsel. The successful candidate proactively communicates developments, identifies potential issues before they become problems, and recognizes that effective internal communication and teamwork are critical to ensuring deadlines are met, matters are properly prioritized, and clients receive outstanding service.
  • Organizational Skills: Excels at managing multiple priorities, maintaining meticulous organization, and ensuring deadlines and deliverables are consistently met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability: Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a proven history of consistently meeting deadlines and following through on commitments.
  • Professional Judgment: Naturally curious and proactive in asking thoughtful questions, balanced with receptiveness to direction and constructive feedback.
  • Confidentiality: Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when handling sensitive legal, client, and firm information.
  • On-Site Engagement: This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Naples, Florida office. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with colleagues. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why you should work here:

  • Diverse Case Exposure: Expand your legal expertise by working on a broad range of complex matters, including civil litigation, real estate disputes, foreclosures, title issues, and other unique legal challenges.
  • Professional Growth: Work alongside experienced attorneys and firm leadership, gaining valuable mentorship, practical insights, and hands-on experience that will strengthen your legal knowledge and professional development.
  • Leadership Access: Collaborate directly with the firm owner and the Director of Litigation, contributing to meaningful legal matters while gaining firsthand exposure to their experience, decision-making, and strategic approach.
  • Meaningful Work: Help clients navigate complex legal challenges while contributing to high-quality legal representation that makes a meaningful difference in their lives.

Additional perks:

  • Health & Wellness: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and well-being.
  • Retirement Planning: Build your future with retirement benefits that help you plan with confidence.
  • Paid Time Off: Take advantage of paid time off (including an additional day for your birthday), holidays and dedicated sick leave, supporting a healthy balance between your professional and personal life.
